Professional Certification

CETREC is the most experienced training center in REBT and CBT in Costa Rica and Central America.

It currently has the academic support of the University of Iberoamerica (UNIBE) and is accredited by the International Association for Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (IAREBT).

Upon completing all three levels of the IAREBT training program, students will receive certification from CETREC and IAREBT as REBT and CBT therapists, recognized nationally and internationally.

The core faculty consists of M.Psc. Ana Catalina Vargas, M.Psc. Adriana Gamboa, M.Psc. Stephanie Pirie, along with internationally recognized guest professors from around the world.

At this level, participants will learn the basic principles of REBT, the ABC model, and how to apply them to common emotional and behavioral problems.

LEVEL 1: Basic Training in REBT

At this level, participants will learn the basic principles of REBT, the ABC model, and how to apply them to common emotional and behavioral problems.

At this level, participants will deepen their knowledge of the REBT approach, including how to effectively dispute irrational beliefs, address therapeutic resistance, and work with healthy and unhealthy emotions within this framework.

LEVEL 2: Intermediate Training in REBT

At this level, participants will deepen their knowledge of the REBT approach, including how to effectively dispute irrational beliefs, address therapeutic resistance, and work with healthy and unhealthy emotions within this framework.

This level completes the certification process as an REBT Therapist endorsed by CETREC and IAREBT. As with the previous levels, the certification consists of advanced theoretical classes and individual supervision of recorded therapy sessions with patients.
